No one I know right now is doing it... I heard of Spoons being welded in place to make
the "Knuckle" ... Mine looked like some one just used a rounded edge tool and hammered the crap out of it..

  5. My 50 Buick runs a big block 472 ci. Cad motor. Check avatar. Rags

  6. I also have one of those motors and would like more information on it. The only thing I have heard is that they made them for about six months. That makes them pretty rare. I wonder why they made changes mid year? Was there an inherent problem?
I put a 500 Cad. in my 49 Sedanette, and the parts car has the center bolt engine.

  12. From what I have been told the only difference is the cam setup and the rocker covers,A caddy guy told me they were only produced for 13 weeks,I'm yet to find out for sure, hopefully we can out more about them,I think I've got the only one on this side of the planet.
    Cheers for the interest.

i see a few of you are intrested in dimpled valve covers . well i have been selling a few sets . i have found a way to dimple them but there is a problem . the valve covers very between year and the part of the country they were made . some dimple very good and some just tear . i would like to some day do this as an exchange . i keep prefecting it but i could not gaurantee your would not tear. i have also done some olds 303 , 324,371 valve covers and they seam to not tear. i am haveing a die made to do the dimples as soon as i prefect it . also i have had and sold old vintage valve covers that were dimpled back in the day and they very all over the place like nice to crude.

I'll be putting a 331 Caddy out of a 54 Sedan DeVille, in my 34 Chevy. Found a factory dual quad intake for it too. I'd kinda like to keep the Hydro behind it, but it looks like a REALLY long trans, so I'm planning on putting a Muncie 4 speed behind it instead.

500 Cadillac first test fit in a '54 GMC 1-ton. These were taken a week ago, today I removed the cab because I wasn't happy with the fit and needed to be able to better see where things are.

I'm building a hot rod trailer puller because I'm tired of maintaining a modern truck just to drag old iron home.

Here's one of the caddy powered cars I have, the model A with its blown and alchohol injected 540 cadillac, the 56 coupe de ville I have is also powered by a 500ci caddy, and the not Hambworthy 70 coupe has a 514ci caddy, had a 500 caddy in my late model truck for a while too.:D
I guess I like caddy motors, the 365ci I took out of the 56 coupe will eventually find its way into a rod.

Yeah, I got it to that point and realized how huge the Hydro tranny was and that me and that tranny weren't gunna fit in the cab of the truck. So I ordered a 700R4 adapter from some guy and it was a few months before I got the adapter and by that time I had already moved on to another truck project and haven't got back to the RPU...

Glad to see some caddy stuff out there. I think i wore out the right click/save pic as button. I have a 55 331 out in the shop for my next project. Something tells me it isn't any good though. A friend of mine has a 56 and 57 caddys with 365's that i can tap into though. I just like having something unique that most people don't have.
