Hi guys.. looking for inspiration for a dashbord for my freinds custom projekt.. so what fuel's your mind regarding dashbords caugeclusters est.. so post your pictures off stockers, one off's, and art deco.. let the juices flow..
I was going to use this (early 60's Chrysler), and the push button shifter out of a 55 Packard, but changed my mind. I have 2 of them, if anybody is interested.............
....geez, that #4 post is a tough act to follow....anyway, here's mine that's going to be in bare metal with 6 volt gauges stepped down from 12 volt for the rest of the car....here is a mockup...
>>>>>,Mines pretty simple really ,,but since i'm a wood & metal kinda guy ,,it werks for me ,,this is in my '27 T coupe ,,,i took a 1/2 inch thick piece a solid walnut ,,cut it to fit ,,stuck those guages in it ,,
Here's one hanging on my wall. 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Dash. I might fill in all the holes one day but right now it's just wall art.
Here is my dash the day after I got it back from the paint shop. Dark cherry metalic pearl. Burgandy to some. It is not purple @#$ it. Same as the rest of the car. Yeah that's snow in the background and it was -5 deg F.
Here's the dash in my '47 ford-The original instruments and chrome were long gone when I got the car so it got filled and a new insert made. Sorry for the poor picture quality
Here's the dash in the old Vicky. The panel is a Model A accessory item call the Aristocrat, which fits over the stock dash panel. I enlarged the holes to hold the modern Stewart Warner gauges (including a clock) that I wanted to monitor my cruising. The Speedo is a rebuild Stewart Warner unit for a Model A (the speed indicated by a rotating disk with the numbers around the edge). At the top center is the site hole for the original gas gauge.
Here's what I'm working on for my 48 GMC. The dash is from a 62 Rambler American that I got on Ebay for a $1.85 It almost fits and should work with some triming and fabing a couple of pieces. Mel
