Howza Bruthas- I'll start! My Dad rescued and restored the Happi Time garage after my pal Ronnie had let it sit in his garage for quite few years. It is a neat piece and the 1/25th '61 Impala bubble top and gorgeous Mac wrecker look great next to it. And also here is a Lumar Skyview Garage (a Marx toy), that my partner scored for me a few years back for a Christmas present!! Since then, I have found most of the extra pieces to make it complete, she's a keeper for sure!
Cool station Spooky! I've loved those toy service stations ever since I was a kid. Dad bought me a neat little station in 1961 for Christmas. He got it at a local Texaco service station. I never stopped playing with them. Now the grandkids play with me too. lol Since then I can't pass one up at a swap meet if I don't already have it. They go great with our 1/24th scale slot car lay out.
A diorama garage I once had to display diecast and plastic models of some of the real 1937 Chevy cars and trucks I built over the years. It also displayed a 1957 chevy figure 8 racecar toy model that I made when I was 8 or 9 years old.
Like many, I have a soft spot for service stations in my collection. I think I have about ten in total to display my models and toys of various scales, Please enjoy!
I've had this one for a while. Seeing this thread has gotten me to get it out, clean it up, replace missing screws, and reassemble one part that was put together wrong. If anyone in the Washington D.C. area is interested in it, and has a tether car or parts for a trade, or partial trade, PM me.
Fisher Price Parking Ramp- Service Center Old car activity in his private corner all season long. Rain or shine... Hello, An old Fisher Price Elevated Garage of unknown age. We bought it from a garage sale down the street from where we lived in an old house. It was old, dirt covered and it took a backyard hose spray to get most of the crud off of the item. We would have bought a new one, but times were tight and for the cost of a new one, this old garage sale item was in good condition, it just needed some cleaning and care. We spent lots of time cleaning the surface and wiping out old dust that had accumulated over the years. The photo is 47 years old and the garage got plenty of use during the “push cars around” stage. It was one of the standard toy car items we were able to buy for our son. He spent hours dragging it around the living room and usually hid in the corner with a view of the backyard, while his cars got the detailing and private parking spaces. Jnaki It is now long gone, but when he was ready for some new items, we gave it away to our neighbor who ran a huge child care service for all of the young families in the local area. She needed plenty of toys and small indoor items for those little kids running around all over her house and yard. Later, when we had to use her services after the elementary school days, our son came home and said the old garage is still in “everyday use” at the local child care house. Plastics last forever…YRMV
