Do you mean to say that after you fixed all that rot, it took 4 years for the rust to come back?! Thats what happens on the salt! any improvement on that is nice work! nice coupe.

Here's mine. 18 bullet holes, rockers gone and and no rear quarters. Throw a 32 frame, 54 nailhead, 39 box and a splash of shiney stuff at it and this is what she is today.

dammit where are you guys finding these bodies i been searching for a year now for model a body.

 

I went out in the woods and cut this thing up with a torch...
and brought it home in like 5 pieces.

This is the first incarnation of it.

I plopped it down on a Ranger frame. YUCK. What was I thinkin?

Still on the Ranger frame, but I'm thinkin...maybe if I lose the front sheetmetal....maybe that will help.

AAAaaaccckkk.....HELL NO that won't help. Notice the RED wheels and flatblack....this pic was taken in 2002 or 2003. I was desperate to join the FLAT BLACK RAT ROD LEGIONS.

Then I got the bright idea to SHRINK the cab and build a new chassis.

A step in the right direction.....but DAMN! I built it too damn HIGH!!!

Even with the engine in, the damn thing sat too high. At this point I got disgusted and quit. It sat from 2005 till this summer 2006 when I chopped the frame back apart and lowered it 4".

Finally I've gotten it dialed in till it looks beautiful.

I'm still working on it......and it may change before it hits the road. But I do believe I've gotten it where I want it now.

Its not that I'm a perfectionist....its just that I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. Soooo I learn from experience.

...and just for reference, this is an "illustration" I did for it on my old computer's paint program.

I did this sketch right before I shrunk the cab and built the custom chassis.



I'd say its not too far off the mark so far.

Picture number one is what I started with, picture two shows the beginning of the body work, pictures three and four show its current condition. It will get painted next week all (Artictic White) then the (Viper Red) over the white. Paint scheme remains the same. All the bumpers, tailights, hood scoop & ornament and etc are at the chrome shop. I'll post pictures of it when its all back together.
