There was a 53 or 54 Poncho SD in a wrecking yard north of Denver (still had the tail lights), I think it was called Speedway or the road was. Had a lot of 40's Mopars along a fence in back.

  2. Ive got three. The 55 ford is for sale. My wife want,s the 55 chevy fixed into a driver with a four speed stout engine and air condition. I hope to get enough from the 55 ford to buy a new interior for the55 chevy. The 50 sedan delivery is very rough. I bought it on Ebay and never looked at it just pictures. Not one of my better deals:(. Any how I bought a 1950 car on ebay out in Chandler Oklahoma. Paid $65. I drove my 65 chev PK out there and cut the Quarter pannells off and stripped it clean. I then gave what was left to a scrapper. I sold the deck lid from that to a hamber in Kentucky for $100. good deal for him and me both. I took it in the peterbuilt on a run to MtVernon Ind. And he drove up a few miles from Kentucky and got it. He stated he was going to have to pay dearly to buy one in Wyomimg and have it shipped. Then I answered his add in the Hamb Classifieds. So I now have enough body parts to fix the sedan delevery. Ive got a 401 nailhead with weiand 2 four intake& weiand valve covers, try Y hedders and a lasalle trans. also a ecoline straight axle and a 3/4 ton read end with 586 gears and a no spin. its gonna be a gasser. Lowbuck Rod on here has a 50,s delivery with a nailhead. its pretty neat. OldWolf

Our youngest son, now 23, has claimed our 55 Chevy wagon for years. I bought it around Jan 1987 and he's been working on it since he was 1 1/2. Yes, really! Now that I am old and lazy he does all the work on it. Nice to know it will be in good hands.

  11. The retired Swabie I got it from about 1978 said he bought it in 1964 from the Navy (San Diego) and drove it 90 miles home. It was gray exterior, he painted it orange the following year and wrecked it a couple years later so it was parked in his back yard until '78. It sat at my place until 1990-91 then it went to the Santa Maria CA area. Buyer was Dennis ?Something? he also owned a Cameo show truck and a hot '55 Belair.

I never noticed a Navy tag but I didn't look for one or it didn't have one. I do remember it having an "SPL" code on the firewall data plate. It was a low serial number car, like #200 or something close. Car had "miles" of wire and coax cable, many holes from mounted equipment on/under the dash and in the cargo area. Also had patched holes in the tops of the front fenders and the center of the roof for antennas? No engine when I got it but was 6cyl/auto. Green 1956 deluxe interior. Split bench seat and fold-down back seat. Side windows didn't roll down.

Currently working on my wifes 34 Ford Tudor. (my Avatar):(

Hopefully this will be my next project. It's a 38 Dodge "Morticians" Delivery, factory built, 20" extended version.

The first picture is how it looks today, and the second is what we want it to be when it is finished.:D

update on my 4 door that has 7 inches removed and made into a 2 door sedan.

it is now titled as a 1930 dodge.

the rough welding on the panel was done by a 9 year old girl who wanted to help. l though it is a good way to get a new hot rodder started on the way to learn life skills, and figured it's only metal, it can be fixed.

although, it kinda grown on me and l might leave it:D

    Later:cool:

  16. Here's my old 60 Chevy sedan delivery that started life as a RJ Reynolds cigarette delivery vehicle. I bought it in 1969 to make a low class stocker with a 170 horse 283 and a hydro, but by the time I got to it, NHRA had changed their rules and made it obsolete. It was turned into an IHRA Formula Stock with 288, a Glide with a 6000 rpm converter and a 6.17 gear instead. It still exists and is currently being redone for some more 1/4 mile drag racing fun. That's no photoshop there either sports fans, it would pull the front tires about 6 inches on every run.

can't remember if i posted mine on this thread yet. it's an original 48 window delivery built for GM by Weller-Bilt in Memphis. Started life as a rural ambulance in Mississippi--still had the orginal red crosses on the plexi rear windows

runs a cad 390/t-5. the sad part is it's not big enough for my growing family.
