So i just bought my dream car,the 29 special coupe posted on here,and am already making plans for when I get it home.I know alot of people update their dashes with rounder dashes from older cars.So how about given me some ideas and posting pics of your dashes!

50 Pontiac cluster for my Pontiac powered Deuce

 

On a related note, has anyone used an early Mustang 5 gauge cluster? I think it would look kinda cool, but is it too big for something like a Model A?

Very basic,old military gauges,and a couple decals for flavor.

 

Here's the dash in "Bud's B". All 50's or earlier Stewart Warners.

This is a coat of clear over 69 year-old woodgrain. I only post this because you were asking about "rounder" dashes & I believe that the mid to late '30's Fords (& others) really has nice looking dashes. Something from that era might be an option for you. They are relatively flat too & wouldn't take up too much valuable space in an A.

Bone stock ain't all bad. Change for the sake of change almost always is though. The model A didn't have much of a dash to speak of though. The dash of an A is a good place to display some creativity & taste.

Of course, you weren't asking my opinion. You were talking about a Model A & a "rounder" dash.

A '40 dash in an A of Deuce is hard to beat.....

Here is mine... 55 chevy car dash in a little 29 Model A. Cut 14 inches out for te glove box to be a full size... Molded all the way to the back of the Doors.

* I have pics from start to finish!!!

 

Don't know what this dash was out of.......but it fit with very little work...

sectioned 49 Ford Dash on my 28 rpu

 

The gauges in the dash are auto meter 2 5/8 The little BowTie is The shift light (which was a blue Dot for tail lights) The 10,000 tach sit where the stock clock used to. the cups for the gauges are steel made from 2 1/2in exhaust pipe I had them stretched to 2 5/8. And they are all fully welded & tappered into the dash I can even still use the stock in dash speaker. And Sorry No you can't have my steering wheel. LOL But i hope you liked the pics.

 

Needs finishing up on the ends and underneath... '60-64 Corvair narrowed 4" to fit in a 46 Ford...


Needs all the little areas filled with steel and ground.


Left glovebox door will be full of SW gauges and backed with pearl drum wrap.


The right one will be a glove box door.

Yea this is an old post....above is a pic of my 40 Merc dash when I was fitting it to my 32 and here is a pic of what it looks like now.

This is in my A. I've been told it's from a '20's era Dodge. It has 2 glove box doors and 2 ashtrays! I guess the Dodge engineers were serious smokers. The center is a machine turned filler where the original gages would have been. It fits a Model A really well. It doesn't appear that any cutting was required.
