Willys rear suspension. Before, during, and after. The pieces of mitered square tube in various places on the chassis are mounts for my harness, seats, and whatever, all have a nut welded to the back side, saves from getting under the car. After 30 + years in construction I'm old, fat, and pretty busted up making me a huge advocate of NOT crawling under anything. Neat thread, some great ideas to steal! Have a nice Easter all.

Made my first set of headers when I did the car. Rebuilding the car and making another set now.

Could have bought the ‘32 style dash but made my own using 16 gauge and my swap meet bead roller.

Knocked out the steering box last week, cut the flange off the F1 box, made new flanges and welded them on.

    Nice work on the seat!

I forgot about the air cleaners I made. Not a very good picture though.

37' Dodge pickup grill center. I didn't have the die-cast original so fab'd one from steel.

Adapted 33'-34' Ford hubcaps (made for wires) to regular steel wheels. The only problem with this picture is you can't see the adapters to make this happen. I ended up modifying the hubcap rings slightly as well as making adapters to fit between the wheel and hubcap. These mount with and are retained by an O-ring so there is no scratching of the wheel. This was about 15 to 20 years ago but are on my truck now.

Most of this DSCF0938.JPG car was fabbed from scratch. I started with 4 chalk marks on the floor. The only pieces that were bought were commercially available were the shocks and narrowed rack .The frame ,motor and trans mounts, drive shaft floors, firewall , headers . Accessory drive mounts, battery box.

Looks great, I bet you've had many people asking about that over the years.
Not being up on all things early Ford; I'm guessing OEM 4 cyl cars/trucks.

Thanks Denny. It's kind of funny but a lot of people don't even notice them at all on my nondescript truck. You know I'm not an expert on early Fords either (know enough to be dangerous) but I think they came of the V-8 cars too as mine have the "V-8" script like the ones below for the flathead. I guess I should paint my script too but I'd probably go with black.

I only say 4 cyl because in your photo the hubcap appears completely smooth (sans V8 logo).

Not a better looking car on the planet, in my opinion. Wouldn’t change a thing! I know this is just a pic, but it struck me! Bones

  24. Nothing fancy, just a spacer to allow me to mount more modern gauges in a stock model A dash with out interference with the fuel tank.
Kinda proud of them as these are the first thing I have ever made on a lathe. Best part it is they are all the same size and there was no ruined material.

  25. Motor lift plate covers entire valley with like chains on the other end also. Glove box ,glove box door & hinges,
engine stand plate, press for reversing spring eyes. Forgot the rest..
The pic of the engine plate is Stumpys I think ( couldn't find mine)but it looks just like it.
