You're talking about John Athan's car. He ran with Isky back before WWII. The funky windshield is the back window out of a 1940s Chrysler.

The yellow one is in my garage. The black one is what I envision it eventually looking like.

Any info on this one? The rims are obviously quite rare as I haven't seen another set like them. Who owns it? It has beautiful proportions and I love the full hood.

No picture, it's already been posted.
At the beginning of this maddness (post WWII) there was a man with so much talent and vision that built a roadster which in my opinion has yet to be surpassed. That man would be Bill Neikamp and the roadster he built won the first AMBR trophy. It was and is the target for everyone to shoot at. There have been some spectacular roadsters built since then and the best of them can only stand in it's shadow.
Of course it's an opinion and everyone has one. That's what makes this hot rod thing so neat. Mine is based on the original article in Hot Rod along with the cutawqay drawing of it and the finding and restoration done by one of my favorite builders Jim Jacobs. Bill was still alive when Jim did the restoration and the article written about Bill being reunited with his old car is priceless.
I'm waiting for something to shoot it out of first place.

    dirty tace,
I think that black roadster belongs to John Swanson in L.A.somewhere.the wheels are n.o.s. vintage indy car units, what a great car.

  11. Lee Bright in CA used to build the most beautiful full fendered model A's. I think he passed on but not sure. The one in the previous post with the wires looks like one of his. Pat.

  12. Okay i found the pic, this one has been a long time favorite. Love that stance, and it's long before airbags! Isn't this one of Magoo's.

These two I absolutely love. Altho the sweeping exhaust alongside that roadster is a little odd to me, I think I kinda dig it.........until I'd pull a stupid stunt and touch it.:D

Couldn't help myself! Here's my favorite. It has been in our family since my father built it in the mid 50's. It actualy started out as a coupe which a tree had fell on and crushed the top.
