It's somewhere back there under all of that stuff and the bucket that I'm using for electrolysis de-rusting.

Here's my latest workbench project. Drilled a 4" dropped SoCal axle last night for my Sport Coupe.

great idea storing all those fasteners under the bench top,not only using otherwise wasted space but also forces you to keep bench top uncluttered.

Here is mine....I call it organized chaos. I am a firm believer that organized people are too lazy to look for things. Every time I "organize" or clean my garage I lose stuff and it takes me forever to find stuff.

I just opened this post up because I was embarr***ed when I thought what mine looks like. The suspense got to me and I finally had to look. I was expecting to see those fancy organized picture post card work benches. I am really relieved to see that I'm not the only one that is not a neat freak. I could not build anything in those garage show rooms with the tiled floors etc. Show offs.:D I like my garage.

This thread made me laugh. I don't even have a garage, just a "work area". Houses with garages are $2000+ a month over here, so I make do. At least I don't have to contend with cold weather and snow. The clear containers hold parts soaking in vinegar to remove the rust. The ladies at the local store think I'm a chef because I buy so much vinegar. :D

[IMG][IMG] The pvc pipe supports a temporary canvas I put up when I'm working. Gotta take it down at the end of each day to keep the property management Nazi's from griping at me...again. lol

I built my shop in '05. I have a 24' main bench usually full of clutter, til something needs to be done. here are a few shots of the changing clutter:

in the beginning, just two layers of used '2 by' form lumber saved from the s**** pile.

but soon afterwards the clutter began as I started to move in.

I have 1/4" steel plate on half of it, that is where most work get done.

... but additional portable tables get used too, whenever it seems too hard to clear a space.

This is one section. I try to keep things cleaned up, but if your in the middle of a thrash it can get out of hand pretty quick. When it gets so bad I can't stand it, I take a few hours and clean the whole shop. Mike

Parked projects generally turn into parts stowage for current projects.

I can take a pic of my workbench areas- but you'll only see a couple 3-deuces, a couple toploaders, 3 sets of heads.. and maybe 5% of the workbenches, tops :(
