Show your cool finned aluminum parts

1/2 inch thick aluminum, cut and ground and painted with a sand cast grey paint and then polished the fins. Then I painted the air cleaner to match the valve covers. That's the short story, it was alot of set-up and cutting.

That, I can believe. Quite a bit of measuring, too, to get the fin spacing right. Looks good, thanks for the reply.

Here's a pic or 2 of my old-school Cal Custom finned covers on my 302 . They're still in fantastic shape . Never mind the crazy blue color - my camera was freaking out . The engine's not really that color , LOL . I'll have to shoot some better pics without the flash , I guess .

LOL. Those are just plastic bottles inverted over the SCOTT stacks to keep dust out of the carbs. I'm surrounded by gravel roads. Dust is terrible around here. I'm working on a set of air cleaners to attach to the top of the stacks.

 

My car is covered with finned stuff. This group of pics is all stuff I built. The air cleaner ( last pic ) is, we think off a boat. A buddy of mine had a pair that were mirror images. I got one side he kept the other. Next I hope to add a finned pan and a front cover. The front cover will have to be milled to miss the short water pump. Love fins!

Well the valve cover monkey was on my back again this weekend

 

Not mine but thought they were cool enough to share.

 

I picked up a few new things and then the scoop blasted to match

 

I polished the Stellings style breathers and put them on my M/T



then put them on my new mill

I worked in a foundry years ago, now I want to do some casting for myself!
I got this on the drawing board. (literally) A clearance light for a truck project. Will hold a generic 2" light.
Too damned cold to go out to the shop and make the pattern.
