    3k rods
    8k head set up
    Block Old /New ..

    I watch some othere's Videos
I am watching & looking @ there engine
    Combo & program..
I see several ones with kind same set ups..
Some changing Rods every 10 p***es
    Some 20 , then some 30
Pistons same way different replacement increments ..
those racers with in 100s of each other
    But engine programs so different
From engine , trains , to rear & tires

My self I had a unique turbo set up in my 32
    I started this project around 2014 ,
Maybe first to have @ time I play with Efi but I have my limits , I went to some so call tuners all said we can make
    1,300-1,500 hp I know , but I wanted
    A safe 2 set ups a 650 6,500 r's &
    750 7,500 ish , & DD ..
No more then 20 psi ..,
So I took engine out , My nephew wasn't happy , I told him Im tried of max , & braking **** all time its $$
@ one time I would almost replace engine weekly , things changed when I became ill ,
I have been looking time to time for a engine to replace one I let go , wish I did not, 3:90 s 4:10 on Alky

A few years ago, he was talking about the car in a video, and said he'd spent over 100k on engines on the car. That was a few years ago! Kinda makes me feel bad, after having spent under 5K on the engine for Plan II that I drove for 10 years and many thousands of miles.

  4. It is wild how some people are constantly fixing their engines and others have almost no issues. One of my friends races a 71 nova with a 632 bbc on spray that runs high 4s in the 1/8th. This motor gets new valve springs and lifters every 75 or so p***es. His previous motor was a 421 sbc that ran low 5s on spray. That motor got freshened every 200-250 runs and very rarely had issues

The guys that can tune well, have scienced out the subtleties of their combination, and have a feel for what the car is telling them, can go rounds without carnage. The guys that are well funded, but struggle to see the signs, spend a lot of time thrashing. Of course a lot has to do with luck, and the current parts situation too. It's easy to talk from my armchair here, I still have a phobia about breaking down miles from home, whereas these guys are welding heads on the car that is supposed to transport them down the highway!
