Driving my roadster when it's cold isn't much fun. I decided to hinge the curtains off the windshield. I made everything out of SS. We used Velcro to keep them closed.
Very nice work,on a thing thats a bit hard to find much info anywere on the net . More info on your hinges an sewing to framing would help a lot as well. Looks really good.
Very nice job on the curtains and top. The curtains make all the difference when the weather is cold and/or rainy.
How about telling us how you did this. What are the Windows made of? They don't look like clear vinyl plastic.
Excellent workmanship. And I have to say your truck looks REALLY good. I love that it runs a chrome grill she'll and not another deuce grill, not that they don't look good but an A shell on an A looks just as good.
I have OEM style side curtains in my phaeton, they do the job in the rain but are not as nice as yours
The whole car is a "thing of beauty"; very nicely done.I have a steel Henry cabriolet roadster, and I'm jealous!
Very clever, brilliantly thought out. I've seen side windows hinged from upper roof bows on a couple of 32s before. Wouldn't work on your roof line, but this idea is better yet. Thanks, and nice work.
I wanted the curtains to center on the back of the windshield posts . The hinges are designed to pull away when opened so the curtains can be lifted off the hinges. When closed they wont lift off. The clear is convertible top vinyl. The top, interior, curtains, and bed cover were upholstered by Sid Chavers and Rich Santana.
Super job, thanks for the extra info an pic's. At some point I'll make some side curtains also,an that helps a lot with ideas. I do my own sewing and fab work,so ask lots, fun to see whats out there, you did great. Thanks. Some time back I did a tech on DIYS for homemade hotrod tops; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/hotrod-folding-top-a-how-too-do-it-tech.857951/
Thanks for the explanation. I just got one of Sid's tops. Haven't installed it yet but it looks like first cl*** workmanship.
