I recently bought a 327 inline 8 5-main out of a 51 packard. Im wanting to use 4 sidedraft carbs and 8 exhaust pipes. Will the sidedrafts work and which ones will i need? Did a search and came up with squat so hope you guys can help.

I used DHLA 40 Dellortos on my inline. Then after driving it awhile, I converted them into Fuel Injection. Runs even better now!

How about 3 or 4 SU's from a Big Jag. They have a vintage look to them and are adjustable and easy to tune.

DHLAs or Weber DCOEs are a good option. You will find the Webers to be pretty common on the swap meet trail too. The size that you find with these carbs is not as critical as it would be with say a typical Holley or Carter, because as you set them up you will change the "chokes". This is the main venturi, and they can be bought in several sizes determined by the needs of each cylinder. It makes these carbs tunable on anything from the smallest european motor up to the biggest stuff we have made here. The most common seems to be 45mm.
