1952-59 Ford Side glass question

Has anyone used replacement side gl*** from Mac's? Is it comparable in thickness to the original? This is for 56 2 dr. quarter windows. Mine are delaminating and chipped around the top edge.

 

I used Auto City Cl***ic for my 56. The thickness was within .002". Seems to match extremely close.

 

It took ACC 3 tries to get me the right vent window gl*** for my car, they were supposed to send me a shipper for the wrong gl***.. never happened. They supplied my door gl*** and it was very nice. The vent gl*** was wrapped in some newspaper.. a language I have never seen before...

 

I get all my flat laminated gl*** from a local gl*** shop. As long as you have a pattern or the old gl*** they will cut it to match. The prices are very reasonable.

 

Same here I used a place called Bell Auto Gl*** in Phoenix they did my vents and one drivers side window perfect fit and great prices.

 

I got mine from Auto City as well. great fit. I had to have some custom cut when I decided on the fixed rear window (ala business sedan), and used a local gl*** shop for that. Dark smoke tint I think was the reason he couldn't make it from laminated, so mine was sent to Oklahoma for tempering. Is the flat gl*** you guys are having made "cheap" tempered? Jeff, I think you said yours was laminated.....clear? smoked? tinted?

 

I ordered my gl*** from ACC in the Ford green tinted, matched my other gl*** perfectly.

 

My ACC side gl*** was tempered.

 

Matched up to the factory green tint.

 

I got my driver's side door, rear, and vent windows from Mac's and they were a perfect fit. Seem pretty comparable in thickness.
