Side opening hood hinge ideas -suggestions

Considering setting up my 33 Chevy with one piece hood to open from the side (open sides without side panels). I know there are side hinge kits out there...but I prefer to make my own set up.

Looking for ideas or hinge designs that worked for you.

I would very much like to do the same with my 30 chevy.
