When I built my avatar roadster, I wanted to run rib fronts on it. Knowing that rib fronts tend to follow every rain siping groove for uneven surface there is with the road, I chose to run a Profile power steering gear. With about 1500 lbs of pressure, I control where the car goes and not the tires. I put the car on the road in 2009 and have driven over 40k miles since, throughout the southwest without problems. I no longer use rib fronts because they wear out only slightly slower than a pencil eraser. I now use standard Nexen 185-70-15 on the front end and have no problems. The Profile gear is a Tommy Lee copy and uses a standard GM ps gear slightly reworked. My car is nose heavy because of the all cast iron hemi up front and the power gear makes steering very easy. If you are going to attend the LA Roadster Father's day meet and are curious, stop by and see my setup. There will be a gazillion 32 Roadster there, but not many hiboy style Washington blue with a hemi hanging over the framerails and 14x31 double diamond sprint car tires on the back. I would be happy to show you my setup.
