I need some help here, I am thinking of building another intake and occasionally you see an intake setup where the carbs set sideways (90 degrees to the crank), besides the obvious challange with the throttle linkage is it a problem? i.e. will the motor run right during a hard acceleration and deceleration? etc... Appreciate the help, by the way the carbs are Stromberg 48's, thanks.

sidedrafts are a good alternative and also look cool. a good tuned set of strombergs are hard to beat on the right application. and will draw a lot of attention too.

Lotsa drag cars run the carbs that way, has always worked great for me. I don't see why a Stromberg wouldn't like it. I'd put the fuel inlet to the rear so that the floats open under acceleration and close under deceleration.
