Hello - So I went through the Sticky FAQ, and theres a lot of of good information. My question is, whats the best and LEAST expensve way to get MORE stopping power? Without going through a full disc conversion, will a brake booster and dual master cylinder provide a big difference in braking power? Second question: Which should I go with? Thanks in advance!
Check this one out:http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=36285 We can figure out upgrading your brakes to self adjusting if you pull a front and a rear drum and measure them for diameter and width and post it,the Mercs those years had options.Being in So-Cal you probably have places that can reline your brakes with Kevlar or Ceramic this will decrease fade and wear by 25-35% a much better option than over the counter stuff.
I can pull the front drum no problem. Rear is a little difficult. Skirts are welded in and getting the rear end off is a pain in the ****!!! So I may be limited to just front braking options... for now. And good looking out on that booster on eBay. Will that help a bit? Thanks for the help! -Newguy
