So i got a 1950 dodge meadowbrook with the flathead 6 not to long ago. Its almost to the point of running it for good periods of time, my question is does these motors require leaded gas? Pic for attetion[IMG]

I don't know if it would require leaded gasoline but that was all that was available when it was new. Since it is probably around 8:1 compression I would think detonation would not be a problem with 87 Octane gas. The only other concern would be the valve seats and at the performance level of the engine I wouldn't worry about it.
If the engine has a lot of miles it might be a good idea to pull the head and clean out any Carbon build up. Take a compression test and see if it is fairly equal in all six cylinders.

They don't require leaded gas. You'll be ok.

If you start driving it a lot and especially if you lug it around, it won't hurt to put a lead additive in it every other tank or so.
