It was a sterling day today for the Others to put on the nice annual event. Amazed to see so many nice vehicles, many of which I had not seen before. There were some primo Deuces:
Most importantly, the opportunity to chat and share stories with a whole bunch of friends! Thank you Others!
What a great distraction for a Sunday morning, thank you. I love the white firewalls and the chev gasser stance, thank you for sharing, going back for another run through.
Thank you all for your kind words! My apologies for the missing detail: show held in Meriden, CT. Meriden was known as the “Silver City” for all the silverware and silver items produced there in the past. A few points worth noting: A day with some clouds seems to produce nicer photos than a full cloudy or full sunny day. As has been my custom, I forgot to take a photo of my car until I arrived at a nursing home in Meriden to visit a 102 year old WWII veteran friend. Walking around I found $6 on the ground. There was a young child walking near there so asked him if that was his and he said no. I asked a few folks also nearby who would have been happy to claim it, but answered honestly. Knowing someone lost it but likely could not find out who, I later relocated the boy who was with some adults and provided him the money after explaining the story. Finally, as you can see there were some awesome cars there, many of which were “new” to me. As good as that is, seeing, mixing and catching up with so many people really makes the event. I’m hesitant to name names as I would hate to miss someone. Thank you again Others for a well run event!
ct1932ford thanks for adding your shots to the mix. A question if you know. What is the third red knob in the Blue model A? It looks like it is attached to the gas pedal? Hand throttle of some sort?
Gordon, That's my car and the lever you mention is connected to a Mitchell overdrive. While the Mitchell overdrive can be used to split shift between all the gears, I mostly use it as a 4th gear. This way here, I have a 4:11 rear drive which gives decent take off and good around town while having overdrive so I can do highway speeds without revving the engine so much.
Pete / Mark, you 2 surely know how to make a guy homesick / heartsick. Thanks for the pictures. nick.
