Well this is my first (and last ) Hemi project. I'm putting a 241 Red Ram Hemi in my 1934 Plymouth PF Coupe. In my hopes of the motor fitting between the fenders and hood, I had to notch the inner fenders and fenders about an inch on both sides. Before that I looked to see if the valve covers which were hitting could be modified a bit to clear the fenders. I removed the Plugs, tubes valve covers etc. to see if there was any room to trim the covers. No can do! This was the first time I ever touched a Hemi motor. Here's my question?
In putting everything back together is there any tool or trick to getting the wire caps back on the spark plugs? I'm sure I can make a tool but was wondering how you hemi guys do it. ?
I got the front clip fitted so all is good! Jim

The easy way is to use a sparkplug wire kit thats are made for Hemi.
They have long insulator so you can reach the sparkplugs.
But i have used a long slim plier put them on the sparkplugs when i didnt have correct wires for my Hemi.

Yes you need the insulator tubes. I have made some from Phnolic. Which I don't know how to spell. Delrin would also probably work

How do you keep the spark plug tubes from leaking on the early hemi? I dont use the cover that goes over the spark plug tubes

You can try some RTV, or something simular around the seals.

I made some spacers that pressed on to the tubes and fit between the tube flange and the rubber grommet when the plug was tightened. I didn't use sealer. But this was on a race car.

Use the under tube washer set that I sell. And make sure you have the correct length tubes.
