Just thinking out loud will do it. If you've done it and popped some pics, so much the better. I was thinking about spare tires. A spare tire bracket that plugged into a trailer hitch in place of the receiver could be a do-able deal on an A or Deuce type car. Specially for that once in a blue moon long trip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thinking about trailer hitches - for a 32 frame anyway - it seems that instead of building a nice, but takes too much room type receiver hitch could be improved by building a hitch that stays off the car and bolts up to each frame rail with say, four bolts. And maybe a couple more if you go forward for bracing. In other words, trailer-wise, all that stays on the frame are several threaded bungs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another thought is,if you build the hitch to remain on the car, instead of the receiver plugging in horizontally, set it up so the receiver plugs in at a 45* angle or even at 90* That way the hitch would remain hidden for the most part, but remain quick and easy to use. There are several ways to build a receiver so the hitch can remain higher up in the frame and remain out of sight. Any other idea's? Doesn't have to be about trailer hitches....
The factory Mopar hitch for my 2005 Dodge Magnum is made 90 deg so the reciever plugs up instead of in like most hitches. They sell just the reciever part in the 90 degree part.Would save you some time instead of building a new reciever.Soulds like a good idea.
