Ok so this should be simple, but so far no luck.

my so-close-to-finished-it-hurts 29 truck has a late model rear with a spring mounted on top. Nice rake truck looks like its falling off a cliff.

But I like the looks of the old pirate hat stock spring. Nothing agains you coil-over types but its just not what I'm looking for

ok so dumb question. Is it practicle to purchase a new "reverse eye" leaf and have it "tweaked" a little on each end?

how about removing a couple of leafs?

  2. Yeah, you can do both to it, from what I've read and asked before. Trying pulling a few leaves will be cheaper, like 2 or 3 pulled out every other one, but search the board for good procedures on doing that as they can pop apart with a lot of force if you just take the bolts and stuff off them.

Switch to a T spring. Same look but lower than an A. Actually, nicer profile than an A in my opinion.

Or use a 1940 ford front spring depending on how much lower you want to go.

This probably will not be a one time shot. Take the spring apart. Remove the Number 2 and 3 leafs, from the main leaf, and try that. Something to remember is when you take leafs out the clamps that hold the spring in the cross member get loose as there is less spring to clamp to so you may have to find a few small one to take up the slack.
Look at my roadster- it has a model A spring over a mustang rear
