Dave...this is Wednesday and therefor, the night of the Wednesday night "cruise" in Omaha. Might be the last one for the year. Grab Tim and come on down. Goes from about 5 pm to about 8-9 pm. SHould be warm but very windy.... It's on 84th street.....Tim knows where it is.
Might see if I can get a car load... I got nuthin' on the road right now... but gotta buddy with an odd ball Studebaker... might get that and head down if we can... We'll see what I can scrounge together...
Tim, I haven't yet checked my PM's but I did meet Dave Damnit and his buddy, a confirmed lurker [TM] at the cruise tonight. Sorry you couldn't make it, Tim. The usual cars were there and there were some new ones too. It was De-luxe, meeting Dave and his buddy. Here's a few photos of cars I found interesting tonight.......
the roadster has a 49 Olds engine with aftermarket dual 4 barrel intake and 2 49 olds carbys on it. This Riveria was new too...
The 47-48 Olds looks familiar, eh Denise? Belongs to a friend of mine, Randy, from a little town near Omaha. I think Randy runs a sbc in his....The chopped windshield looks killer! He runs the same top Denise does.....none!
Roger, it's just north of I-80 by about 4 blocks just before you get to Center street. It's actually on 83rd and Haskal street. There's a movie theatre a block away that's been there a looooooong time. The cruise is held in a parking lot for an old strip mall there. The theatre parking lot is the next lot to the north... Beware! The lot also fills up with Bikers, ricers and heaping helpings of 55-57 shivvies with shiny paint and tweed interiors. Billet overflows engine rooms constantly!
Hey Rocky, Joe and I had a good time last night... Thanks for the invite. It was nice meeting you, I looked around for ya again before we left and couldn't find ya. We have Wednesday night cruises around here as well, but they usually got to neighboring towns, every week is somewhere different. Is the Omaha, Wednesday Night Cruise always in the same location, and every Wednesday night? Gotta PM from TIM last night, curious if he'll wanna hang out tonight, got a lead on a 235 6cyl in town for another Iowa HAMBer. Gonna go check it out tonight... hey guys, yeah sorry i missed out, didint get your emails or nuthin till this morning? wtf how odd. anyways emailed you dave with my numbers n ect. maybe see you this weekend rocky? and yeah the wednesday night thing is every other wed isnt it dave? the tri state thing? did that preety hard core for a bit with the nova. ive seen that roadster a ton of times rocky, was there last time i went with differnt whell---stood and talked about him powerd coating like 4 sets or somthing. was a "Speed Kings" car as i recall with the dual down draft carbs. came in with that light green scallops plymoth. and some othre cars roarign iwth open headers. later tim
