It took me long enough, but I finally figured out how to downsize my pictures so I could post 'em on here. Here are a few of the pictures I took back in July of the Pizza Man Corvette when I was in Sioux Falls. I was watching a Meacum auction a couple of weeks ago, and the Pizza Man rolled across the auction block. Bidding stalled at $120,000 as I recall, and it was a no-sale.

Thanks for the links I spent most of my younger days going to Thunder Valley, Cornhusker Raceway,Eddyville and Humbolt, We used to have great parties the nite before Thunder Valley on the road lined up to get in in the AM, Sometimes I wonder how we were able to get up and race the next day ,,,,Tim Jones

Anyone remember the TENSION '57 Chevrolet? I saw this car 10 or 12 years ago sitting in a wooded area on a hillside outside of Soldier, Iowa. Still had all the lettering on it and didn't look too bad. It disappeared a short time later and no one seems to know what happened to it. The farm where it was located was "cleaned up" and some say it was scrapped. . .Hope not.
Anyone know where it is today?
It and the In-Bomber were popular cars around this part of the country back in the day and the In-Bomber has been completely restored and is now for sale (on the East Coast). I saw it in about '88 in an alley (in the bushes) in the small town of Craig, NE. . .That's my son (now 28) and a friend's boy checking it out. Still had most of the lettering visible at that time.
Also. . .whatever happened to the Good In-Tensions car?

I was able to find this pic of my '70 'Cuda racing another '70 'Cuda on a small track in North Dakota (I've been told). Both cars raced at Thunder Valley and other tracks around the area in '70 and '71. . .maybe Sioux City too. Both cars are still around.
In fact, that's how I got this pic. . .from the current owner of the car in the foreground, who got it from the original owner. My car is the one in the far lane. When I bought the car, I was able to talk to the original owner, who told me he raced it on weekends and even remembered there was a photo of the two black cars racing. . .that was in 1990 and I finally got a copy of the pic in 2010 after a friend met this guy at a Good Guys show in Colorado. I would meet him the next year at the Mopar Show in Farmington, MN.
What's really unusual is that both are factory TX9 black cars and both are U-Code 440 4-bbl cars which are actually rarer than the Six Pack cars and the only year the 440 4-bbl was offered on the E-Body 'Cudas (one of 618 built with the Torqueflite auto). To find a vintage pic of these cars battling it out on the 1/4 miles is pretty cool!!
Anyone from the Midwest remember seeing these two cars race? Any additional pics?
    THANKS

posted in this thread, earlier ..

"Anyone else have pictures from the Nebraska/Iowa area? Just to clear up things, the Tension '57 was infact sitting for years untouchted and full of history, the dashboard full of class winner plaques, but it was junked in fairly recent years and does not exist anymore. The In-Bomber is being restored by my father and I. It is in rough shape but we just caught it in time and plan on bringing it back out midwest to the Hot Rod Reunion and run it again after 40 years. The Good-In-Tension '57 of Fred Anderson does still exist, but it is desguised as a street rod, painted purple and currently for sale somewhere in Nebraska.

I'll try this again...I was at a big downtown car show in Sioux Falls back in 2012, and the Pizza Man Corvette was there. I took a bunch of pictures of the car, because I remember seeing it run at the Sioux City drag strip back in the 60's when I was a kid in high school.

My pictures were too big to deal with at the time, but since then, I figured out how to down size 'em.
