Been in this spot for four years . Drove in. Front end is in another corner. 20250327_134631.jpg One owner, went into a nursing home, and then passed away. Now it's just taking up space, and hanging in limbo

That one took a pretty hard shot. I can't believe the rear glass is still intact!

When you were a kid, did you ever sit in cars like these and dream? Rusted, haven’t run in decades, the odd varmint… but in your head it could run again and would be so cool. Styling that had gone out of fashion and had yet to come back “in” again. Sometimes in a paddock, sometimes at a wreckers, sometimes in an old hay shed.

Not too many kids will see the “sitting and rotting” cars on the main board, but some will see these o/t ones. I hope the seed of many future projects start in some of these cars.

    cheers,
    Harv

The old cars I got to sit in were the old dirt track coupes. Our local dirt track ran the old 30s-40s coupes every Sunday night until I was about 10 years old, then the track switched to the "late models", cars newer then 1950.
My dad's buddy raced a 34 Ford coupe with a flathead V8 (one of the best cars in the class), and his son ran a 30 coupe with "late model" Gm V8, first a 394 Olds, then a big block Chevy. When the track switched to the late models, dads buddy quit racing, but his son continued on, first with a 62 Chevy 2 with a 396, then string of Chevelles. Their garage turned into a gathering point/help rendered, and major fix it shop every weekend, their place was only about a mile from the track. Most of the summer there was at least 2-3 different dirt tracks cars there every weekend, in addition to the son's car.
My lucky butt got to sit in the seat of several of the who's -who driver's cars from our local track, and I even got my hands dirty helping with some of the projects that got done there. Nothing like being a 13 YO kid, holding a wrench on a nut, so the local driver could tighten the bolt from the outside, then watch him win a race later that day!
As a 10-14 year old kid, that place was Heaven on earth. I learned so much there.

At least its not out in the weather. It appears to be pretty dry storage. Maybe its the next one on someone's project list.
