Ever since my girlfriend got a 74 I've been looking over every Gremlin I come across while junkyarding. There are surprisingly few out there. These two had some good bits yet which were purchased. And a Pacer for good measure.

That Gremlin X might have had a 304 in it from the factory.

I can’t believe all of these Superbirds are out there in the wild like that. And to see someone hacking a quarter panel off of one makes me cry…….. I know back then they were not that popular and sought after but still…..

My friend bought a Superbird back around 1978 for $1500. I passed on it, and told him about it, I had no interest in it! The Orange Bird had a 440, 4 speed, and was amazingly solid, he drove it home!
I bought a 70 Charger RT with a 440 4 speed about 2 years after my buddy bought the Superbird. I paid $100 for the RT, and I drove it home, then stripped it out! The RT was a bit rough, and I kept the 440, the Hemi 4 speed, the Dana with a sure grip & 3:55 gears, and a few other parts, and I still pocketed almost $1500 from it in 3 days time (that was how long I could get away with parking it on the street in front of my house). I sent the hulk to a junk yard, he sold parts off of it for another year!

In the late 70s and early 80s, the late 60s and early 70s performance cars were just parts cars. Worth far more as parts then they were as complete cars. These pictures do not make me cry or sad, I still see valuable parts for someone that needs them.
