  1. I think if it was not being offered for sale, it would not be so visible from the road? I think I would ask, it can't hurt ...

"Can't hurt"? It's Western Oklahoma. If I catch the owner at the wrong time, it could hurt a lot.

It's not like the Wild West, it IS the Wild West. We not only have concealed carry, we now can where them openly.;)

I will check though because I just hate for the chickens to have such a fine coop (coupe?).

If you see a car from the road that you are at least curious about don't hesitate to ask about it!

A friend of mine told me two true stories of such cars...

One day a 1932 Ford 3-window showed up behind a barn he drove by on his way to work. The car looked complete. He thought the owner of the barn had just bought it. As time passed, the car appeared as if it was being dismantled... eventually it was down to the bare body sitting on the frame.
A few more years passed with the car sitting outside... My friend's curiosity finally got the best of him, so he drove up to the farm house and asked about the coupe. The owner said he might consider selling it, he had simply moved it behind the barn because he needed more room inside, he had not looked at it since he rolled it out back, and no he was not dismantling it!!! (The missing parts had been stolen!!!)

The same friend one day noticed a complete 1950 Ford Convertible sitting in a field, just off the highway. He again figured it had just been bought.
After several months seeing that car sitting, one day it was gone! He decided to drive up to the house on the property to ask about the car... once again it had been rolled out into the field to make room inside a garage. Somebody else had asked about it first, and bought it for $400.00!!!

You just never know until you ask!!!

Ain't that a shame, someone junked a perfectly good white girl. You should salvage some parts off that one.

  11. The taillights that are missing off that '60 Dodge are probably on a '55-'56 Ford somewhere.

A nice car 15 years back... left to rot, at 300 bucks it is not a jump in and grab it deal.

  13. I've sold most every little part, piece and project I own and am totally ready to pay up for a good wagon but the guy wants $3500 for this one with no hood, motor, trans, back seat, or fuel tank.

It's solid as a rock but I refuse to get bent over like that.

So it continues to sit..... the rotting will begin soon enough.

Should be. Scrap is back up to $10.50/hundred, so dragging across scales alone would be more than sale price.

Always someone looking for something for nothing.

  15. These and more parts are in a yard here in Henderson been there since the 1980 s they get moved around the yard but nothing is for sale. Same old story he's going to build them someday..

    Ouch man, ouch.

In 1996 I bought a 64 Chevy II wagon in Knoxville for $1400. Drove it 500 miles home. :) Times have changed.

  18. Who the Hell would let a '51 Vicky sit & rot for 15 years? My Dad had a sweet one back in the 60s. He was one of those Ford guys.

Not much to see here, but there is more than a discarded wheel laying in the woods. That wheel is attached to a car.
