  1. It'll cost twice that to restore it right.

  2. Is that an old oilfield wireline truck

I had posted a pic of this before but I just saw it on eBay with more pics.

It's sitting at $15,000 with no bids.

How cool would it be to have something like this (restored) to drive to shows though.

Somehow I think I would just try to stabilize the cars and truck/trailer and put it in a museum somewhere.

I like the idea someone above suggest "I hate this job" just going to leave the whole thing here. The long lost shipment.

    Great photos thanks for sharing.

  10. 15k is the start bid? The best car on there has no rockers. Call the Pioneer up, in South Dakota he will take it.:D

would be fun to just fix it up mechanicly and drive it around as it is. itll get more attention than restored thats for sure. alot cheaper and easier too

  12. The truck cab is pretty rough. All the cargo is parts car fodder. It's only real selling point is that it's a whole ''package''. Split it up and it would be 30% scrap metal and powdered rust.
But damn cool to look at!

Even mechanically restored, there would be junky bits falling off.
Gads, you'd get tetanus lockjaw just from following the poor thing.
But, if you had Lotto money to burn, absodamloutley.

no titles for the cars or the truck but the 1949 whitehead trailer comes with a title. the trailer might be worth more than the rest of it combined.

Definitely won't be easy to move that or cheap either.

  15. Sometimes.....its just junk. Sell what little is salvageable from that rig and sell the rest for scrap metal.

wonder what the 56 chevy car hauler rig seller is thinking having 37,991 views on it and have 1,064 watchers on it? well make that 1065 watchers after adding me and most likely it is made up mainly of us lurkers here on the hambs board.

  19. I think the entire lot was on the way to the scrappers when the truck broke down and was abandoned.

someone must have asked him a question about it because he updated his listing and said "no you can't just put a battery in it and drive away" . he also lowered the price to $10,000 but added a reserve which isn't met. He must be wondering why he has 10-82 watchers and had close to 700 more views the last couple of hours.

  21. I didn't know it was in Wisconsin. Were at? I will have to go look.

It looks like it would take all 56s to try to make one good car and get more parts.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A TEST TO SEE HOW MANY CARS YOU CAN COUNT IN THIS PICTURE?????

  29. So the 56's on the trailer are a pair of 210 4 door sedans - top sales # at 283,125 units
    A Bel Air 2 door sedan - 104,849 units
That Bel Air Sport Sedan HT was one of 103,602 made. Not a low number, but seldom seen today. Less than 8000 Nomads were made in '56
