Of course it's a heart breaker to see the vette sitting and wasting away. But is it silly of me that even seeing the wagons and 4drs wasting away makes me sad?

  9. Ron - Clean look on the 'Mad by leaving the quarter script and "V"s under the the taillights off. The '53 has a home grown finish that's going to be hard to match if anything happens to it. Hope he makes it a driver!

My guess it was used for stationary photography on a Pacific atoll during atomic testing. Filming out of the back the car could withstand the winds of a nearby blast, then be towed away and the film collected.

I was thinking more like someone's "custom" project that they never quite got around to finishing.

^^ damn impressive sheetmetal work for a homemade car that was probably built in the 30's, those huge quarters don't have any easily visible seams and the curveature is very clean. That would be hard to duplicate even now. I wonder if it was ever rescued? A damn shame to see it just sitting out in the weather like that.

Cool. A V-8 65 ranchero with the instrument cluster on the crate to left that should go in it.

  29. Doesn't surprise me the fenders are gone on the 47/48 fleetline they are impossible to find good ones.

  30. I have often wondered if Cuba has a problem with rust since its an island. I know its a big island but most of the old cars I see are in the cities on the coast.
