Art & Inspiration Sitting and Rotting.............picture thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Royalshifter, Jan 31, 2009.

  1. These cars were all dumped in the 60's to stop erosion of the banks during high water....I think some were dumped just to get rid of them. After 40-50 years in the water most are in pretty bad shape. Problem is, you can't do anything on the banks of this river without going through MILES of red tape....

I really want to save this old stock car....37-38 Ford coupe

  4. That water is SO clear!!!!!

Some killer photo ops there with the right lighting (some maybe even UNDER water).... any local photographer should be all over that.

They're in a "former" wrecking yard and are there for display now. That Chevy truck had a hemi in it back in the day.

We all went a ways north to a car show, a very nice older lady hunted us down at the show after seeing us drive into town.

She told us her husband had passed a while back and had a few cars around that looked a bit like ours. She gave us the address, so after the show we went out and checked it out.

Here is what we found...... a barn with a roof, but only one side.

The bodies just fall apart once the wood goes away.

For those in MO/KS there's one of these Nash's(?) setting on 12th off of Kansas Ave. in KCK. Been there for as long as I remember. Was going to snap a pic but forgot for the second time.

No details. Just an old 57 chevy hot rod that was beyond saving. The bottom was rotted out of it.

The box and fenders look like late 31 A but I'm not a 100% sure, I'm looking for a set of rear fenders for one, no others will fit.

Found this A the other day. Talked to the farmer at the house and said he would never sell it because his grandfather purchased the car "brand New" and that they were going to restore it some day. According to him, it has been sitting outside next to the barn since 1967. If it was such a family heirloom I would think they would store it INSIDE the barn instead

Whats the deal on the 60 sedan delivery, did the person who raced it let it sit and rot or did it fall in the hands of one of those hoarders.

It fell into the hands of a massive hoarder, who died with well over 100 fine cars which had decayed in his yard to a similar fate.:(
