I have done several of those conversions, this is the car I'd cut up. The exploded A-pillar and lack of a frame kinda doom this car anyway, that'd be the best use of it. The black one is really rough but might still be fixable to someone with ambition and a donor car.

Either way, good on you for saving what you can when you can. A complete dash structure cut out of one of these cars has good eBay resale value too.

    Ron,
Are you going to drag that home? Be a shame to leave it there.

A pillars on the one are pretty rusted out. It has better quarter pieces though.

  10. No I quit dragging them home anymore. But I still love the hunt. I always have. If anyone wants to save any of my finds just send me a PM, and I'll try and tell you how to find it. There's still a ton of Vintage Tin out there. It may be in a little rougher condition. Not finding many, T's A's 32's or model 40's anymore. But you never know. Happy Hunting Guys. Ron..........

The rearend in that Ranchero is the good one. Would be worth buying the whole car just for that if someone had to.

Another tanker to be rescued; this one's a '56 GMC in Bull Shoals, AL and ran when parked, whenever that was:

Isn't this the rare base fleet model? It's on GovDeals; only problem is they want $3,000 as the opening bid o_O.

Also on GovDeals, this '56 Fairlane is in McMinnville, OR and was apparently a police seizure. Sorry about the photos but they were postage-stamp-sized before I enlarged them:

Heavily patinaed but very complete; best thing is per the data plate it's got a factory 312/4 barrel (Fordomatic) which is intact. Auction ends 12-13-19.

  14. Don't you mean Bull shoals, Arkansas, not Alabama??

  15. I saw this and a wagon listed on the same site about a month ago or so. I guess either the reserve wasn't met or there weren't any bids. It's probably only worth getting as a parts car, mainly for the engine if the original 312 is in it.
More postage sized photos here: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=3&acctid=8646

I HATE PHOTOBUCKET! So many pictures lost.

  17. I retrieved all the photos I had on PB and cancelled all my accounts with them after they started charging ransom to be able to post them from their site.

While pulling a VW bus out of the woods this weekend I was given the permission to walk the rest of the property which was an old junkyard. There is a (53?) New Yorker 4dr complete with I think a 331 Hemi. It's priced at "make offer" , guy has been very fair. No pics, was trying to respect his property. PM me if anyone is interested.

  21. No...it's a FE....looks like the 352 with two barrel carb just like in my 1965 F-350 with that front motor mount....easy to put an FE in an earlier truck with that factory mount.

the box looks like either a screw hoist. or maybe gravity dump. probably originally on an older truck. cab looks pretty good!

  24. A 33o truck engine is a FE. It has the 352 stroke and a smaller bore.
