A French Vedette. It is about 3/4 scale 1949-50 Mercury.

 

It appears to be a chopped 1951 ford.

I found these yesterday while out with the car club so took a ride on the motorcycle today to check them out.

 

(Desoto top has a hemi under it, with a complete dash)

 

Saw this today out in the west desert..

 

Back up the farm on the weekend and remembered these cabs from when I was a kid. Been there since just after WW2 rotting in the bush. Dad made hay trailers from the ch***is's of both of them which are rotting in another spot now.
One looks Chev but got no idea on the other. The hinged metal bucket seats may be a clue.
Any help on id for both would be appreciated. Paul.

Forgot the dash which has typical British Smiths 3 in 1 round gauge pod on the left. Sporty British cars of that era had a Smiths 4 in 1 round pod.
