In LN7 NUT's post #1923 picture 6 of 7 any idea what kind of car that is? It has suicide doors front and back and a really good looking grille shell.

    Yep! :D

Picture #1 of post 1923 is an 29 Graham-Paige with a 28 Essex body, the front doors are now on my Essex 3 window coupe.

Photo #5 of post 1923 is an Essex as well. There is a 26 T radshell and a 30 Chev radshell sitting at the front not attached.

And photo #6 in post 1923 is an Essex in the same yard as #5.

There are a lot of Essex's where I live, most are in decent shape with little to no rust through (except the front doors on photo #6) but they are always missing the radshells and the hoods for some reason, but I have access to several radshells right now if anyone was in need.

There is also a 31 Essex down the rod from me in the bush, and a rare 32 at the local wrecker in rough shape. (I'll add the photos when I find them and re size them)

That is a SWEET tow truck. Looks like it's a nice one to build, too. However, it's a bit far away, for me. Hope that someone saves it.

Nice pictures and cars in this thread!

Also found a few wrecks in the swiss alps. The models aren´t spectacular, european Ford mid-size models (Consul? Taunus 17m?) and beetles from the late 50´s and early 60´s (We call them "Ovalis")

Not to sound rude, but one day these hoarder's will die off and their relative's will sell all this stuff to make a profit(if the dollar is worth anything by then).

Nah, the next of kin won't want to deal with the EPA cleanup issues and will call out the crusher to get rid of them.

I've said it many times, just don't be a know it all asshole and these so called hoarders will sell you almost anything, hell most of them give me the cars I want because I'm respectful, even the ones that supposedly will never sell anything to anyone... I just discovered today that the brothers I got my 26 TT from (both in their 80's) were just those kinds of people, I got the truck for next to nothing, complete minus the glass, and they loaded it for me and we spent the following 3 or 4 hours telling stories and jokes, it was a great day... apparently they are the unapproachable type who will chase you off with a gun, they sell nothing ever...

No offense is intended to anyone individually here at all, but there is an overabundance of pricks with overinflated senses of self importance out there who get under peoples skin who have these old cars and piss them off, then they go around calling them hoarders and bad people to further piss them off... and then wonder why they won't deal with them, or why they get sick of it all and crush everything.

    Rant rant rant..

Sorry guys, I've been called a hoarder because I wont sell my bus or my daily driver... even though I everything else in my ever changing stock of vintage cars, and the day I joined the HAMB I had found a thread showing my cars and my friends cars with some BSA story they were owned by hoarders who refused to sell, blatant lies that served no purpose that I could see. If you see a car you want to check out or buy, be polite, be friendly, listen to the person who has it, and be genuine... Sometimes you have to make a few trips and gain their trust but it's worth it and you often get a valuable friend out of the deal too. I sold a 60 Buick LeSabre to a guy 2 years ago, while he was checking it out another guy was over looking at it too, and the one guy was nice and polite and I could tell he wanted the car bad, the other guy was a know nothing know it all with no respect, but he had more money... I sold the car to the polite guy who offered less money and told the other guy to GTFO because he was such an ass... the polite guy is now a friend and i still feel right about the sale of the car.

Now back on topic (hopefully I never posted these ones yet)

LN7 NUT, if i had the opportunity i would be collecting part cars and project cars (yes, You can call me a hoarder) just to sell them to someone that really wants it and is respectful, polite to people. I have this friend who really wanted my off topic VW and i said pay me half what i paid for it and it's yours (i really meant that, because i knew hi is broke, hi wants it bad and hi is polite with people)
being polite and respectful pays off greatly (old man will sell to me and only to me his ride he had for 32 years just because i was polite and respectful) and i'm only 24 years old punk :D

    ...and I'm a 28 year old punk! :D

Attitude can make a world of difference for sure.

So yesterday I went out for a back road cruise with my older brother, and today I went with a car buddy and here are some of our finds.

We found a tach dash for his 57 Mercury M100.

    A snub nose 55 GMC.

    A 37 Chev 1 1/2 ton.

And a 35-36 IHC... well some of it!

Nothing yet... trying to get the 37 Chev for my buddy, and I want the IHC radshell. At least the one farm lets us have parts for my brothers 57 Merc and his old ladies 70 Datsun 510.

Cool meat wagon photos, I have a 46 Ford, 51 Dodge and a 49 Pontiac myself!

A '67 Camaro SS and a '64 Galaxie 500 XL with 427/4-speed sitting in a junk yard down the road from my house. Both have been "gonna' restore" since the mid-80's. Camaro now has no top - it rusted through and caved in. "Pans on the ground" for the Ford!?!? Sickening.

That's an Envoy, a Vauxhall rebadged and sold through Canadian Chevy dealers. Rare as hell. There's probably the best one in the world on either Craigslist or Kijiji up in NE Canada right now, NB or Maybe NF. PM me if you want me to find the link, guy is dreaming at $18,500 tho.

That's an English Ford Consul Mk2, looks like a "Hiline" or late 50s one. Nads would know better tho.

  25. Or possibly a MKII Ford Zephyr.

They both used the same bodies, however grilles and trim varied a bit. Zephyr had chrome headlight surrounds , Consul painted. Zephyr was also 6 cyl. and the Consul 4 cyl.

A picture of the grille would tell you which model you have.
