  3. I heard from one guy who rode in one, that if you hit the brakes suddenly enough, you could get the rear wheels up in the air.

Those forward jeeps were popular around my area. Lots of farmers had them. There is 1 sitting outside the junkyard in town right now that isn't looking to bad. Back in the 80's maybe early 90's supposedly the white one outside of town back then had a 302 stuffed in it. Rarely saw it moved though. Wonder what happened to it? I know the property got sold off when he died but I don't recall no auction or anything at that property.

I so dig that 2 door wagon next to the more door . . .

  7. Seb, the jeeps were FC 150, or FC 170 models. I think they were called Forward Cab models.

Wheel base only 1" longer than a Crosley. Only saving grace is it is/was wider.. I didn't remember the 4 Wheel Drive.

  9. Seb, the early FC 150's had a narrow track. They widened the track later for safety.

Here is one taken from a holiday I took in 2009. I wonder if it’s still there. A6773EEE-070C-4977-872E-D859098C8078.jpeg

If it's in a distant location and you can't drive by, Google Earth it to see if it's still there.

    Here's a few from around my hometown Gisborne.. New Zealand, East Coast, North Island.. Gis-Tolaga 22-1-11 009.JPG Gis-Tolaga 22-1-11 010.JPG Gis-Tolaga 22-1-11 011.JPG
If you do a Google map search for Gisborne, New Zealand, Waipaoa River, then zoom in at the river mouth end, scroll inland, and on the right side of the river, (a bit before the rail bridge) amongst the trees, you can see the wrecks.. I visited the site not so long ago, and seems the council has cleaned them out..

In 2009 I took the longest road trip of my life. 1584 Miles, up the East Coast. I left my home on Wednesday and arrived in Cairns by Friday Lunchtime.

I took a small compact digital camera with me not knowing what I would see on my way.
244 Miles in on day one and my eyes nearly popped out when I seen this. 438CF91B-0404-4DF4-829F-662BB089E66C.jpeg
