Is this a Dodge?

 

A few years ago I walked down about a 40% grade in the woods to get to a car I had seen from the top of the grade [maybe 1/8th mile] about two years before. I don't know what I thought I saw from 1/8 mile away but when I got to the car it was a 56 Ford. It was so bad the only thing I got from it was a cap that was on the pinch weld SS trim. I find it every once in a while in a shirt pocket. The walk back up the hill damn near killed me.

That's exactly what I thought it was but didn't want to be wrong.

 

You were correct with the Dodge (or Desoto), it's not even close to a ford and the front suspension is a big giveaway. This is as close i could ifind in my albums in a hurry, this is a Desoto. JW

I have some knowledge of 1941 De Sotos,,,,,owned this one since 1999.

 

The shorter fender trim makes it a 1946-48 Dodge in my eyes.

Boulder, MT. Apparently way back when some "kids" stole this Hearse and drove it up the mountains until it could go no more. Now you have to hike to it....pretty cool though.

 

Would somebody, I say would somebody please save that custom.
