Making contact; even if you can't afford it right now should definately be a priority. It can never hurt to ask and as long as youre respectful; i bet the folks who own it would love to talk about the cars with you. contact the town and find out who owns the land and go from there. might as well put the bug in someones ear now; before its too late:)

  2. Yes, I have let a number of found cars sit and wait until I was in a better place financially only to go back and find them sold. Some went cheap I was told. As stated above, sometimes they will give them to you because they are of no value to them.

On the back side of my grandfather's farm in Ohio. As a kid, I climbed all over these. Now, I wish they were in some sort of recoverable state. They've just rotted too far.

Kinda. Its located off old julian highway. Not really sitting and rotting. This is the result of the witch creek fire. The truck is scorched. It was totally restored and a really sweet truck before the fire ripped thru.
I think the guy had 5 minute to move all his cars.
It was a sad day when I drove thru the area after the fire and to see all the cars that fell victim. :(

That looks like a 59-ish Zephyr or a Zodiac... but I'm leaning towards Zephyr!

These are sitting a few miles from our favorite camping spot. They've been there for years deep in a ravin unseen. The still have given up a few parts (I might be responsable for that:D).

I found this gizmo there, and a rim from a wooden wagon wheel.

I think it might run a pump jack? Not sure. I took the bolts out and started splitting the case just for the hell of it, but it's stuck preaty good and quit before it broke.

I have a nearly identical gizmo, it was attached to a farm windmill and had a flat pulley on the one side for a belt, I assume so the windmill can be a powerplant.

This guy never sold anything. Well he past on and his wife had an auction. I'm sure this went to scrap. It was pretty bad. Putting up there didn't save it in Ohio.

    Later, Bill

Here's a '65 (I think) Buick hearse for sale in central IL. It's sitting but not rotting, yet. I spotted it when I went to the doctor today. The sign says $3200, OBO. I've got his phone number.

It was a Kieser I think. About a year ago it had a nice dash. Someone took the dash loose and pulled the cluster. Not much there anymore but I plan on going back anyway.

  28. What the hell is a Kieser ?

If you're asking about this one, I'm pretty sure it's a '59 Rambler.
