Skirts

Okay, my first question was seats now its skirts. as of now my 51 buick is a 4 door, but my plans for the car are to weld the back doors shut and make it a 2 door. the main reason is that the rear fender wells are pretty rusted out and i cant find just sections(or at least at a reasonable price) and i definatley cant afford to buy new rear fenders. I could fabricate new sections but that is also gonna take alot of time and money. so a couple of my buddies suggested me to cut out all of the bad metal and get a pair of universal skirts to cover what i cut out(which wouldnt be alot maybe an inch above the wheel well). and the fact that the rear doors would be welded shut i would get skirts for a 2 door. my question is would anyone know what kind of skirts would look good, or any other make or model skirts that would fit? i looked at bigjims.net i see that he has alot. i am sure someone else has done this, but i ahve never seen it done before! or is this just a bad idea all together?
