That's a very popular picture. I've seen it hundreds of times before but dont have any info about it. I'm sure someone here knows that car- it's too bad*** to have slipped away without a name to it. -rick
When I was in the 3rd grade they had this Hot Rod book in the sKool library that was probably from the mid 60's....it had been there for at least 30 years. i would check that book out everytime....to the point where the teacher wouldnt let me get it anymore. There was a pic of this car in it.
Thats easy, just go to the advanced search type in B***' name and magazine. Then you get this cool thread from 2005! I don't see how you folks have trouble with the search ? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58956&highlight=magazine Remember, odds are if you can think it up it HAS been posted before! Buwahahahahahah!
I would have needed to know the name of the car and who built it before I did a search though...Or the fact that B*** posted about it....I dont live on the HAMB dude.
The car was in several magazines and some of the special edition books back when it was built but I think that is the first color photo I have seen of the interior. Way ahead of it's time when it was built but very well built.
Car was built by **** Patterson in his garage in Rialto, CA. Upholestry was done by Tom Sterkel one of the original founders of the Over the Hill Gang. **** is still a member of the club and lives in Mexico, just below Rosarita Beach.
be curious to hear how it ran...... those superchargers should have been good for 5 or 6 pounds each . that thing would have been shootin ducks or a bad mofo depending on the tune
No worries. For a while B*** featured a famous car that was in a magazine spread. I forget how many threads like this he had. I would love to do the same but do not have a scanner!
Y-block, coil sprung Dana 44 rear, and '65 Mustang steering wheel... Unusual combination of parts for sure, but damn they work! Who'd have built a twin-blown Y-Block in '66? Even if the project did take 11 years, by '66 the 289 was out, the SBC, the FE and the BBC, all proven power-makers. -Brad
Hey Tman... I think you get a "FREE" scanner with an ink refill cartridge for your printer!!!! Hahaha...!
I have a B&W scanner I can misappropriate at work. There are so many cool cars featured in the 60s that it would be cool to bring em back to light!
