Hey dudes. I just bought a NOS drag fast late 50s early 60s Drag Fast 3spd shifter. The kit is all there instructions ect. I bought it to put in my 1940 chevy sedan. Does anybody have any info on these are they any good.

  2. Lots a luck....The 40 Chev tranny is a selector type tranny...Drag Fast didnt make one to fit that type of tranny..in fact not many did...

Not a waste, use it on your next project. Extra parts always come in handy sooner or later.

  5. Not necessarily,,anything can be made to work with different applications,,some modifications may be required. HRP

well i do have another tranny. Its a later model chevy 3 spd.
But i would like to mod it to fit.

  7. you can use the later tranny if you have an open drive rear-end...
if you inspect the shifter arms on your 40 tranny you will understand how the selector type is so much different...

  11. Look all you want...IT ISNT going to work,,,I thought you were here on the HAMB to learn..your 40 tranny has ONE lever that shifts all four gears and one selector lever to choose if its 1st-rev or 2nd-3rd gear

with the trend these days, mod an overdrive tranny for your car and use the shifter on that.
