Hey dudes. I just bought a NOS drag fast late 50s early 60s Drag Fast 3spd shifter. The kit is all there instructions ect. I bought it to put in my 1940 chevy sedan. Does anybody have any info on these are they any good.
Lots a luck....The 40 Chev tranny is a selector type tranny...Drag Fast didnt make one to fit that type of tranny..in fact not many did...
Not necessarily,,anything can be made to work with different applications,,some modifications may be required. HRP
you can use the later tranny if you have an open drive rear-end... if you inspect the shifter arms on your 40 tranny you will understand how the selector type is so much different...
Yea i have a 1955 Chevy rear end. ill have to Chevy it out. I m in metal shop right now as a sophomore and now i can make my own stuff as like brackets ect.
Look all you want...IT ISNT going to work,,,I thought you were here on the HAMB to learn..your 40 tranny has ONE lever that shifts all four gears and one selector lever to choose if its 1st-rev or 2nd-3rd gear
late 40's and most 50's ford products had them?....traditional I think btw, so did 55 and later Chevys
But i have a chevy not a ford i aint crossbreading my cars for a tranny. Ill just put a 56 chevy drivetrain it befor i do a ford part.
