i kinda figured the carb would be to big for it,& i have seen 390cmf was the 'pick' on almost all 6's running 4 barrels,i was kinda hoping that i could get kit 'down size' it,hell i even thought about rebuilding a couple 94's for it,
as far as the carb he has on it.he had a carter on it but the car is set up to go straight line racing.
& thanks for the tip on the starter, hopefully i haven't jinxed me getting the motor by talking about it...LOL:)

Pretty sure that Lynx manifold is an Aussie (or Even Kiwi) one, I know they were around down here for the local engines but can't remember where they were made.

nice but its specific for my application. Not sure about fitment to your car. Actually the Clifford shorty headers may be better for your set up. JUst have to keep looking on EBay & Craigslist. Found my valve cover and intake there.

Here is the Lokar set up I used in a 72 Scamp...

I later used the same set up on a 500 Eddy carb with no issues.

Here is the motor that I am dropping into my 69 D100 daily driver (the newest vehicle we own) this week along with a overdrive 4 speed and a bagged 4 link. The motor is 60 over, re-cond rods, 20/30 crank, new pistons, ported head, matched offy intake, matched clifford shorty headers, 268 cam, eddy 500 cfm that has been dropped down to 400cfm with guts from an old Buick 400cfm carter.

Here is the motor that is in the 48 Chevy Aerosedan...

My wifes daily driver 66 Dart has a late model hydraulic cammed 225 in it.

The only thing we own that doesn't have a slant six in it is the 56 Olds Holiday 88 4 door HT. That one has the 240 hp 324 Rocket.

  15. The amazing Lindross roadster is one of my fave slants of all time. I also remember the ass kicking from his little Valiant at the H.A.M.B. drags when he buried my ol 56 Plymouth Suburan, fond memory however! ~sololobo~

  20. No pictures but a story. When I was young and in the USAF I bought my parents 62 Dodge Lancer GT, (cause the neigbors wife sold his 53 Corvette I was going to buy when I got back from overseas). Turned out the Lancer had an aluminum block 225 in it. Long story short I decided to build a copy of the hyperpack. I was still in the AF and working part time at an automotive parts house so got my parts cheap. Schnieder cam and valve train, Jahns 11:1 pistons, Offenhauser 4 Bl, somebodys headers, 2.5 inch exhaust with only a formula S resonator at the end, Mallory rev pol ignition and a Holley of some sort. The thing would scream. Didn't know much so never thought about beefing up the TF tranny or the rear end. Finally broke both. Replaced them and traded the thing off for a 36 Ford PU with a 301 chevy. Those were the days.

Wish I had pics! Back in the early 90's I ran a mid 60's Valiant post with a hot rod slant as a drag car. Skinny slicks, welded spiders, and a stock trans (I was poor )I still got 3 years of consistent 13's at a track in Lewistown MT.

What jets did you go with on the weber? My wife wants to put one on her 66 Dart.

The Mopar slant sixes I see are no slouch for performance. There is one in '41 Plymouth coupe in my area with a A-727 and it really opens eyes.

:)....I actually drilled mine out...not very scientific...so I don't know what jet size they are. If I was going to do it again. I'd probably spring for the 38/38 Weber. It should be just right for a stock /6.
I also had to use a lokar cable setup. I tried doing the mechanical linkage but due to the way the car was setup I ended up with the Lokar setup.

I have a 225 in my 65 Dodge D100 Utiline pickup and love it. Been messing with the engines for many years. I have the following pieces for a Slant 6:

    - Aussie Speed "Hurricane" 4 barrel manifold (new)
    - Hooker Super Comp Headers (new)
    - Holley 390 CFM 4 barrel (great core)

    - EM

Not particularly 'special or all that
'odd''. The "-3" suffix merely indicates
    that it;s 225 cubic inch heavy-duty
    truck, industrial or marine block,
rather than a passenger car or
light (-ie- 1/2 or 3.4 ton truck engine.
