I see this is an old post so hope I'm not too late with this info. I used a freightliner bunk and narrowed it 10" which was perfect for my '46 Chevy COE. It had two rows of rivets, 5" apart on each side. I made a cut inbetween and over lapped the outside row to the inside row on each side then drilled and re-riveted. It turned out pretty good and didn't look bad over lapping because that's the way it was put together anyway. The Freighliner bunk had nice big radiused corners and fit well with the art deco style of the '46 Chevy.
