I got to say I was happy when Ryan closed the other thread, that slick bastered sounds like a real *****.

  2. I had clam chowder for breakfast. mmmmmmmmmmm.

I probably should not say this as someof my friends are in business and produce a good product, but there is a lot to be said for doing your own work. I'm just sayin'.

Wow!!! you got five grand to build that!!!!! I don't think you did yourself any favors posting this . I would love to hear how in the world you ever came up with that figure. It can't be in labor or materials . I'm missing something!

After seeing both threads I agree, there got to be something missing here. The "special feature" thats not finished yet must be special. I'd be hard pressed to get $1500 for a generic tube frame in my shop. Pay as you go? We could produce a frame like that in a couple days, why would it need payments? Why would a frame like that need "months" to complete? Just weird.

  7. I think I remember something about holes in the frame sorta like dimple die?? I vaguely remember the first thread about the OP gripe about spending the money for a tool "they were gonna only use once and throw away!"still that frame from what I can see is about $300 worth of material and another $300 in labor/materials or am I seriously missing something also??????

the frame isn't finished....as stated in the other thread....that pic just shows what the status of it was when he made the last payment. Work stopped when he didn't pay.

Some of you think your at a drive up window, ordering a thread close. And some of you just do not comprehend the complete picture. Drink your beer.

  11. slammed,
While you and I donot always agree 100% I think that you are aware that I do have a lot of respect for what you have to say and do read it if it is in front of me.

I have read both threads and probably commented on both. I am not getting what I am missing. I am not seeing much in the picture, pretty simple looking perimeter frame. The only new understanding that I have from the builder is that it was not paid in full but a pay as you go deal. I think that was mentioned in the other thread if not in so many words.

Anyway I would pay attention if you would tell me what it is that I am missing here.

Maybe by PM if you prefer to not start some sort of drama. Your choice.

    No offense intended.

So this is what was completed for the $3000 already paid? C'mon Mercury Charlie, most of us know your work is excellent so tell us what the issue is in its entirety please. What YOU posted doesn't look like much of a defense and I'd like to believe you're doing the right thing.

As stated 'some of you' is not all inclusive. Your original post had no bearing on my point made.

"It was a pay as you go deal and as of this date, we have 3000 of Mr. Bluntzer's money and a frame, complete,"

So far, statement of the year. I paid $500 for my frame, but that was 7 years ago. Inflation?:D

I'm with **********. I'm missing something and need enlightenment. So far, all I can gather is that Mercury Charlie is VERY proud of his work.

If it looks like **** and smells like ****....then???

Seriously though MC I would think you would want to do a little clarrification here! It looks like the customer realized he was over paying and wanted to cash out at 3k and get his frame. Not sure why he wouldn't have just stated it that way but who knows! If you were just taking this ****er for a ride I can even understand that but either way your rep is getting tarnished here on the HAMB and maybe that doesnt' bother you but you have to know everytime someone searches Mercury Charlie on here these 2 threads will be right at the top. But what do I know!

  18. I really thought I was missing something. Thanks for clearing that up. ;)

I am not inclined to take either side, at this point. I think that there has been a lot of missed ***munication on both sides. As to who is at fault that would be hard to determin, not having been there. I will say this if I was either party I would be making sure that it got straightened out.

Something is definitely not right about this whole thing. There is no way that picture is $3000 worth of materials and labour I don't care who built it.

Perhaps the axles and suspension were to be included in that price? Stuff ads up pretty quick once you start talking "Chrome plated, billet, disk, coil over ....."

Ok, we bit, now what was the original contract for? I'm another that doesn't see anywhere near 3k or more in that frame the way it sits in the photo. There are a number of hell for good frame builders on here who would knock that out for half of that in two days and grin all the way to the bank. What else goes with the frame?
