Projects Slick Devils Comp coupe club car

Mock up #1 Plan is to use excess parts from club members and any other donating source to build an old looking kinda slow fun car for the guys in the club to play with at the track. Bone stock 265 with a street strip th350 behind it with a 9 in rear. Let the journey begin!

Where are you going to run it? Even a slower than 12.00 FED has to follow safety rules of the fast cars.
Triple roll bar ect. There are minimum safety rules for a slower than 12.00 car but because it is a dragster it is supposed to follow those build rules. At least that was what I was told.
I had thought of a 4 cyl Chevy II powered car at one time.

 

Should be a fun project.

 

What are the rules for testical & lower appendages safety?

local tracks more than likely, yes we have to get the rule book out and add some bars etc.

 

Meeting night tonight, we took apart the donated truck rear end, and the rear end housing that came with the dragster frame. The housing is not centered, so we will need to narrow one side. The axles that Curly donated look like they will be perfect! The axles that were in the housing were welded. We will use the 31 spline pig and backing plates from the truck rear end.

 

The thread ***le is comp coupe, so where is the body? Is it a surprise for later or do you not have one yet? Keep the updates coming.

Swap meet parts for the project today. Axle might not work, but it was cheap enough!

 

Our donated 31 spline axles were from a center steer car and were for a centered housing, Our housing that came with the frame was out of a door car, so it was not centered. Last meeting we started to cut the housing and trim off the brackets.

 

Kind of like this? Did this in high school instead of listening in cl***!
