Hello all, I was wondering where I can possibly find the locks for the right and left (on the window and on the body). For a 1955 Ford Ranch Wagon. Or anyone have a part number

It’s been a minute, but I may have some. But, with Christmas a few days away I can’t dig through my stash for a week or two. Same latch as the country sedan. Been there, did this…

    Hi Badshifter,
Sweet ride for sure! I understand and if you don't mind looking afterwards I'm OK with that. Just please keep me posted. Merry Christmas

A form of the lock is a reproduction for tri five nomads. Nomads use a lock for the sliding glass. Might work.

This is the lock for the sliding window that I disassembled to have them rechromed, you use glass tape and drive the latch on with a rubber mallet.

This shows you the position of the latch.

This photo was taken when we were installing the interior, the latch is in place and you can see the attachment half way up on the B pillar.

    Hope this helps. HRP

Did you ever find a suitable latch or substitute?

No I have not found the parts yet

  12. It's been a loooong time since I owned one, but as I recall the '55 through '59 two door wagons used a U-shaped chrome channel roughly 2" x 4" that glued to the glass. This had an inside handle similar to the vent window handles but larger with a hook that engaged into the square hole in the window escutcheon. The hole should have a die-cast chrome trim around it riveted on to accept the hook. There should also be a wide spot in the window channel to allow the latch channel to fit. These are all the same basic latch but there may be some variation in the handle design to mimic whatever style vent window latch was used that year. These will be found on all '55-59 Ford 2 door wagons, but you'll also find them on the 8/9 passenger wagons for the third seat windows. '55-56 Mercury in the same body styles will have them also, but not the later ones as Mercury diverged from Ford '57 through '60.

The latches shown in post 9 are '52-54 only and won't fit. But these are about the same size looking from outside as the correct ones.
