Okay. Got some sleep. Reading this now, I can see I was a grumpy *******. But I made the post knowing I wasn't exactly breaking new ground, as far as rants go, around here.

loudpedal, I know that when you win your spot at the Ego-Rama (you will 'cause I voted ya' in, along with everybody else, enter loud ***-smoochin' noise here), you will fire up that hemi and drive the sum***** to Cali. You were in Tacoma last year, and so was I. The fact that you motored up from Utah wasn't lost on me.

Guess this just stuck in my craw because I'm moving accross the country next month and DRIVING the Pontiac from here to Seattle. It might break (like my smoked coil this weekend), but I will have a trunk full of tools and AAA on speedial.
I think it will be fun as hell. Yea, it's a big '57 cruiser, not a roadster, so you can kick me in the nuts for that.

Driving these cars is the fun part of these events, in my book. I thought it was funny to see a car built in a "rough and ready" style get trailered. The Finland boys must laugh their ***es off at us, sometimes.

I was just reading an old R&C where Baskerville wrote about how they used to "out" these trailer queens in print every month. [IMG]

You've gone from from easy-going west coast guy to full blown m***hole in just 3 months! [IMG]

See what this place will do to you?!?!?!

Actually....I couldn't agree more with the idea of DRIVING your car....take a chance for pete's sake!

Anyhow...good luck on the re-move....you got room for one more?

I gotta get out of this godforesaken place!

Trailing your **** box is ok as long as the trailer is painted flat black with flames or Kustum Kulture pinstriping and has red steelies and wide white walls.
As Nash might say, "Rive hot lod rife!"

Drive 'em when you can, trailer when it is warranted. Who cares?

Not quite the same but I once saw a tow truck on the back of a tow truck, just struck me kind of funny at the time.

I agree, drive when you can and trailer them when you need too. I once drove a VW bug I just bought 2400 miles from San Francisco back to Minnesota and everytime something broke or I started having problems I wished I had it on the back of a trailer. But when I made it home, and I did make it home and started talking about the "adventure" I had just taken it really became clear to me that this was one of the most memoriable things I had done in a long time. Me and my brother-in-law who made the trip with me still have a blast retelling that trip to people.

Let me put this mildly,I HATE TRAILERED CARS !! If it is a trailered car I won't even look at it. Some of you would probably consider me a gold chainer(far from it) because my car is painted and chromed, but it is never never on a trailer. If I had to put it on a trailer to go to an event, I simply wouldn't go. Kids are no excuse, we took two cars if we had to. Broken on the way to an event OK. Too old to drive it, I don't buy that. I have put up with over 30 years of people bringing their cars to events because they are too good to drive or they are too much of a ***** to drive them and parking their trailers in the parking lot of the motel taking up 2 spaces for their trailer, 2 spaces for their extended cab dually truck, and finally 1 space for their tag along trailer that saves their parking spot. Let me say it again I HATE TRAILERED CARS. Boy it feels good to say that.

Do you mean the Chicken Race that they held there?
If that was done close enough for me to join, I'd be there.
And then I'd for sure Trailer my car, 'cause I might bend a wheel or something Racing it... [IMG]

I trailer a Street/Strip car out of state a few times a year to Drag Racing events that I participate in and I'll be damned if I'm gonna drive it there to impress someone. What do I do when it breaks? Are the ***holes that hate trailered cars gonna help me cuz I didn't trailer it when I blow it up? No ****ing way.

LOL, this pops up all the time. I think people should do what they want. If people build a open car and have kids and dont want to drive then build a sedan or suburban.

Kills me these excuses on why people trailer there car, there are lots of reasons but don't use the kids as one of them and then go to a show and laugh and think its ok when a guy is doing burnouts in the parking lot by your kids. [IMG]

I was not giving excuses, I was giving an explination.
I love driving my Roadster, and I drive it all the time.
It is hardly ever on a Trailer ( maybe once a year ).
If it is on a Trailer, there probably is a reason for it.
And that reason only has to make sense to me...

Just so you know, our Pontiac is a recent purchase. It's all original, including no seatbelts. We have an eleven-month old boy who would kick my *** if he missed looking at some cool "car"s (his first word, no ****).

So we made it there with a "chaser" car. I followed my wife there in the family late model. Then she followed me back so I had wheel time in the Poncho. You should have seen the mile-wide grin on her face as she drove a cool, old car for sixty miles. She even kept it between the lines with bias-plies and manual steering.

Yea, the chicken race in Finland was what I referenced. They know what to do with cars, drive the piss out of 'em!
If you have a drag car, trailer it to the digs, I don't care.

That's race car stuff, man. This was a rod and custom event. Don't tell me your kids have more fun going to an event in a dualie, with the fun car behind them, strapped down. Build a sedan, or somethin'.

Hey Richie, tell your boss man to shove it and road trip it with me to Seattle. Plenty of jobs out there for ya'. And you don't hear Aerosmith 24/7, while your taxes get hiked, yet again.

P.S. Somebody kill this thread, already! I created a monster!

Metalshapes, I have more than one car, can you get them by the dozen? Would it be cheaper?

I would like one of the delux ones with hellfire posting action...and maybe one of those ones with the curious rash that appears when you get it wet. [IMG]

I heard they were working on an expensive one that did some sort of hanky panky photo shooting and spit out aged photos...but it never worked right and poped a fuse with some sort of GADZOOKIE noise. I thing they have a real nice girl one that is like a easy bake oven that makes cookies...I bet that one would rock.

I already have one of those dishonest ones and a flat black one...but he is so small I keep losing him.

I also have the model building one, the goofy brother ones that do very little, and the mexican one. I had the antique one but I have not seen it in a few weeks.

Damn things are worse than beany babies...you can't stop with just one.

I like to keep mine in plastic bags.

You guys can go back to the trailer battle now [IMG]

(and no, I am not saying any of the above are "crybabies," just having some fun on the dead horse post. Well, maybe one of those brother ones is a cry...nah.

Well, now that you mention it...have you ever seen those TV shows and stuff when they have the guy on the street in a trench coat and he opens it up and has tons of watches and stuff for sale in tons of pockest? Well, I have one of those coats full of cleaning products and dusters for use at a car show and/or cruise night. They all have HAMB logos, but nobody ever noticed it before. I think it is because I have combined that tradtion of trench coat with that other one...you know, that trench coat tradition. Anyhow, that tends to make people miss thae cleaning supplies and faint from the pure horror of the sight.

OK, ya gotta post a picture, or at least describe this HAMB doll. Does it come in boy and girl models for both sides of the trailer? Does it have 6" cuffs? Will it pick fights with the goldchainer dolls?

Man, too much coffee for me…

Chili, the standard comes with a black 12 inch pomp. He has a black Social D t shirt, but has an optional Stray Cat one, he has real ****ies jeans with a 3 inch cuff, a ****ING CHAIN wallet***, a red bandana in his other pocket, and a sheet of various stick on tats to sleeve him with. (wow, I sorta look like that...yikes)

The girl one is very large and comes in black and white and is only sold at Sea World and has extra barge fishing net stockings.

***see my past posts about my love for chain wallets.

HMMM, instead of Gen X I need to change my sig to something else...how about "The Stroke?"
