No prob! As you guys can tell, at 35 I've already had a '55 and '56 S&S & Eureka Cadillac hearse and ambulance, and two '70 Cadillac S&S coaches, a hearse and an ambulance! Wish I had a '96 Cadillac Eureka as a daily. ~Jason
This pic was taken 3 years ago, the guy standing next to the Packard hearse has one of the largest car/truck lots/fields that I know of in the US! The Packard sold for 7.5k'z...................... Change the pic to Black & White and it would look like it was from the '40z
If my family sends me to the great beyond in a freakin' minivan, I will come back and haunt them for the rest of their days. -Brad
Now I'm jealous! Not much chance of finding one of these in the UK, rarer than rocking horse sh#t over here!
I can appreciate what they were aiming for, but they missed. Hey Brad, hang on for a few years and you can borrow the 39 Buick Flexible.
HOLY SHIT, DUDE!!!!!! A '59 Superior Crown Royal Laudau? You are seriously my hero, you know that? ~Jason
"the owner says that the 5.3 will smoke the bias plies. From the sound of the exhaust, I'd believe it." I can see it now; "Water box hearse burnout at the cemetary-the ultimate way for the Hot Rodder/Racer to go out in style! Add $299.00". With all the restored old Caddy, etc. Hearses, I'm surprised the owners haven't hooked up with funeral homes to lease the car out for funerals, much the way you see classic limo's offered for weddings, etc. Maybe the funeral home directors fear the classic may break down enroute which would be a real pisser.
A hot rodder should be used to breaking down, even on the way to their own funeral! My father always said that I would be late for my own funeral!
Hell, new hearses break down , too. When I was a lad, 1953, my uncle died in Pinckney, Michigan and the funeral was going to his hometown in Ohio. Well the Hearse was a new '53 Caddy and it blew a tire. Guess what? No spare or jack. The old fellas jacked 'er up along the road, and mounted my grandpop's spare, and on to the buckeye. Of course, my uncle had a new suit on, so he didn't have to help. He just stayed in the hearse.........
No, I believe its been in Ca all its life. I have a title dating back to the early 70s in Santa Cruz, Ca.
Why do we like these things? That Rolls is amazing. That's going out in style. Too bad the person riding won't remember the trip. Rockey, that Superior is the BOMB! You were wise to grab it up. (not quite done yet) (may never get done...)
