Sorry haven't been here in a while, but just wanted to check in with my latest pics. I have decided to go primered kustom, with full fenders and running boards. In fact I may be widening the rear fenders slightly in the future. The plan is to install a 9 inch rear end out of an 86 Ford luxury boat conversion van. The van weighs 5300 pounds wet, so the axle should prove more than durable for my lightweight 50 model. Chopped top, lowered without bags, and Mooneye's saturn discs. It might even get scallops, hehe. Just glad to have the truck in the driveway, and underway. Has anyone ever simply relocated the rear spring mounts on one of these trucks? That's what I was planning, and of course a C notch and pinion angle check.
I am going to do a shackle flip and front hanger raise on my 50 like this. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1951-ford-truck-project-pics.320631/
