Once apon a time , I read most of the posts on HAMB , and when Q`s where asked , I tried to help out ( if I could ) .In "exchange" I got high value "know.how" that others had ..( learned a LOT !!!! ) Nowadays , it seems like the mayority of Hambers do the "Read-only-dont-respond-thing ", and I am as guilty as the next guy . I for one , would appreciate if we could slow this thing down a bit , and get back to business. Guess we all know how to find our way on the net , so all those "lazy-guy" posts are out of place !! Good posts( on topic )are drowning in what not ..... Anyone else who feels the same?
Klaz, i agree, but like anything else ,the HAMB has become somewhat watered down since those days...lots of new people come & go..lots of o/t & marginally on topic posts...but if you weed through all of that, lots of great info is still at our disposal...long live the HAMB!!
I know what you mean, see a great post, make a reply and when I see it a little while later its 3 or 4 pages down!
I have to agree, yet I'm a little guilty at the same time. Since I feel that I'm still getting into this stuff (traditional Hot Rods and Kustoms - that's why we're here, right) I tend to read a lot more than write, however, when a question comes up that I've either experienced and had to muddle through myself, or know someone who can help, I pass the info on. You are correct, some of the posts fall to the second or third page aweful quick with tons of views and only a handfull of responses. I'm not saying that every post should have a ton of responses, but I think a lot of important questions and tips/helpful hints (it's good to give as well as receive)slip into the cracks. I know I for one cut back on my HAMB time when "The Drama" broke loose a few months ago - since that seems to be over I've gotten back into it. I really love the HAMB (and the people who make it what it is) and it has helped me A LOT!! I think you're right, though lets slow it up here a little bit and keep the right pedal down on the pavement... Just my $.02 - keep the change
It`s 4 in the morning over here , so I will have to go ZZZZZZ. If this post was out o place ,then , please dont kick me tooo hard
You guys do know that you can set your preferences to show more posts per page? Serious, go to your preferences and set it to 99. I can see 3 times the posts over what I view when I am logged out. If that dont work, post something meaningful!!!!!
Hey Guys, Why doesnt ryan make a dedicated OT section, as he has for the tech o matice and classifieds? Keep all the OT in one place so those who want to read it can...and those that want to read the real car posts dont have to sort through the*****. Danny
A dedicated OT section would be like the*****ty slummy part of town... it would BREED filth and debauchery... and not the GOOD kind, either...
I think the problem is all the newbies following 1LoaD's way and trying to hit 1000 post on there first month here. (for all newbies...) Why not just chill... read and learn. And only respond when you have something productive to say... Stop watering down all the good threads.

Danny [/ QUOTE ] Good idea, but it probably won´t help much. A friend of mine is running a kind of a "tiny HAMB" . He decided to make a OT section, but all the OT posts are still in the " Hot Rod Talk" section, because none of the users would watch the OT posts in the OT section...
There are hundreds of forums available for folks that want to ramble on about things other than cars. I would suggest those that want to rant, complain, laud or applaud other topics go to another forum. If it doesn't deal with a vehicle it shouldn't be posted here. Just because your favorite band drives a van to its gigs doesn't make the band a hot rod topic. Sure you sat on a chair before going out to your car but unless that chair has a hemi we shouldn't discuss it here...On the other hand...This forum is populated by a diverse group of persons with widely varied and eclectic interests. Real life goes on outside the car door. We all have to live it and sometimes its helpful to vent, ask advice or invite company. An OT forum here would be nice but I'm afraid it would be mostly ignored and OT topics would continue in this one. This reply and $4.50 will get you a latte' at Starbucks.
Hey!........speaking of Starbucks...........NOT! This is over now? I'm going back to read the rest of the posts.
I dunno, man. I'm looking at the first sixty posts and with the exception of the Gas Blackout - which is arguable - nothing is really OT. Now I haven't read FatHacks "I Scream" post yet, but that's because he scares me with his crazy**** gas tank rigging and break-away motor mounts. Plus he's just not an off topic sort. I'm just seeing lots of good questions with sound advise following them. And by the way, where have you been? I think I remember you giving people real help and styling cues when they wanted to restyle their ride? If I remember right you know your custom history - maybe this board needs more of you...or was I thinking of someone else?

Like it needs validation...
I agree... I also think it would be cool if people could****le their posts according to what the post is about. With so many posts on the board... it would be nice to know what they are about, and not have to click on some cool sounding****le and find some lame post... AND visa-versa. Sam.
