I was bringing an engine home on Sunday night, with a few guys following me to help. Since we had three vechicles to park...I pull in front of my house 'left wheel to curb'. Get finished unloading, then kick my shoes off for a bit. I go out a couple hours later and low and behold a TICKET !@#$, for $190. Last night the cop shows back up!!! and wants to see the ticket, which I handily misplace. She tells me I was only suppose to get one copy of the ticket, but that I have the original and three carbons.

THE question is....when she shows back up tonight to get the misplaced ticket. Did the dog eat it...and I just passed under the radar????

sounds like a classic case of her word against yours ..wheres her proof?
I would play stone wall..dont give em nothin' make them work for it, and No you dont have the ticket..when you went out to your car it was parked correctly and you dont know what it is she is talking about..

sounds like she fucked up and is wanting you to help her out...she wasnt willing to "help" you out that night with a warning..so...let her supervisor deal with her ass..you dont know nothin, and you never saw a ticket...for what?

dont say the dog ate it or any other incriminating thing like that..you have Nothing...repeat after me...nothing officer..sorry

I hope this thread lives to hear how this comes out..i want to know

Maybe posting on the internet isn't such a good idea, haha.

Put it in the garbage (somewhere where the garbage gets emptied regularly and there's no chance of finding it), and then tell her you threw it away.

In instances similiar I'm honest about it also. I give it to someone to dispose of and then truthfully claim that I don't know where it's at.

Maybe put it with some meat in a bowl and give it to the dog (if you have one). Then you can honestly say the dog ate it.

Shredder. No copies, no offense. Play it cool afterwards, they'll be watching you. It'll blow over.

They screwed up at work and have to eat it. When we screw up at work, we eat it. Part of life.

    document this...event..
if she harasses you..(stalking)..or trying to trick you up..bring it to her supervisors attention..if it does happen..get a lawyer and push for harassment charges,, flip it..she female, your male..shes stalking you..right?...yes she is

just saying a few well placed acusations can put them off your back in a hell of a hurry., drop the " I will have to get my lawyer involved to talk with you"..you do have the "Right to remain silent" i suggest you do so. .especially when they were the ones who fucked up second

yup-wrap it all up in bacon-then let the dog find it. Then be VERY careful about how you drive and park the car.

Don't be a liar, your better than that.
You don't need to lie. She has no copy to turn into the court, the matter is over.

Integrity will get you alot further in life than $190.00.

Tell her it will cost her 190 for your time to "look for it", no promises though!

If she has no documentation, the copies, then there's no ticket as far as I'm concerned. If she can't prove she wrote you one then why should you help her.

Sounds like you've already admitted to having and misplacing it.

So now what? If it was me I think I'd stall. Keep telling her that I've been real busy
working, looking for work.......whatever, and haven't really had time to conduct a thorough search. It's not where you thought it was, but you'll see what you can do. You know, appear helpful but don't indicate that it's a real big priority of yours. You understand her situation and will do what you can. You've got a lot going on in your life right now with the economy, etc., and if you find it you'll holler. Maybe don't be around the house on her shift. Basically wear her ass out!

I don't think you're legally responsible for finding/keeping it..........only paying it. But if you have all the copies they can't say you've defaulted on payment.

Good luck. $190.00 ain't chicken feed. Keep us posted.

  27. You could frame the copies and hang em in your doorway for her to see should she come to your door again. She made a mistake. Your mistake was leaving your car there for hours instead of moving it when you were done unloading.

Telling her she misunderstood ain't exactly killin' her with kindness. She knows you're lying. I would think appearing helpful, even though it's trivial might prevent future hassles with the LVPD.

    That ought to do it.

I was talking to my lawyer (about other matters) and before i closed the conversation i gave her this senario...she said

    "Deny"

and keep denying unless they can produce the ticket, there wasnt one as far as your concern..the burdon of proof is on her. wind blows tickets are paper..you know the drill

she also told me to tell you to keep your mouth shut...anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. If you have incriminated yourself on record..(tape) than your screwed..so remember what you have said and if it was recorded or not.

you can ask her to produce her proof , that she gave you a ticket..if she doesnt have any..shes screwed, and your ticket issue is done.
remember "you have the right to remain silent"...do you have the ability?
